5 Years!!

On July 26th Isaac and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. It's hard to believe it's been 5 years!
We had a great weekend. Isaac's parents took Mado Friday evening for the whole weekend!
We were so tired after the weekend of nonstop fun :)

Friday evening we dropped Madeleine with her grandparents and headed back to the city. We parked our car at a park and walked to the lightrail to take it into downtown. We had dinner reservations at the melting pot and had some awesome fondue for dinner.

After dinner we met up with some awesome friends- Eric and Leah, who were also kid free :) We had quite the adventure. We got on the wrong bus somehow and ended up just walking. It was a nice walk. Nye's is just hilarious. I don't even know how to explain it. Those of you who have been there understand.. those of you who haven't..should. :) It's like a 60's polka/piano bar that hasn't changed a bit in the last almost 50 years. It's decked out with gold glittery vinyl booths and tons of 70 somethings folks. After Nye's we went to a dance club. Evidently only parents go dancing at 10 cause no one else was there... we were told it gets hoppin' around 12:30. We didn't make it that long but had fun and enjoyed watching some interesting dance moves from the 10 or so people who did show before we left :p
By then I was pretty tired.. we walked back to the lightrail and had the pleasure of people watching until the next train came like 20 minutes later.

All in all, a very fun adventure!

Saturday we slept in and then headed out to do some furniture shopping. Got some thai food for lunch in Uptown after finding that the two Indian places we had in mind have both closed.??
We had plans to then head to Stillwater for the lumberjack days.
On the way there we saw none other than SONIC. We were shocked... we haven't had sonic since we left Mississppi 5 years ago so we stopped for a drink on the way :) Well.. we learned that the Lumberjack days are a REALLY big deal, and there's not many ways to get to Stillwater. AFter sitting in basically stopped traffic for probably 20 minutes we decided we'd seen enough :) The sonic drinks saved us in the heat.

We stopped at a few furniture stores on the way home and then came home and did some work we'd been wanting to do in the house.

This got really long, but I wanted to make sure I wrote everything down before I forgot!

We had an awesome weekend of celebration!
