Vacation

Blogger is so not user friendly and these pictures are completely out of order.
Here are some photos from our trip to the Florida Keys. I may add some other photos when we get them from friends :)

We were able to stay in an amazing house, with amazing friends, right on the water in Marathon Key. It was wonderful and I wish it could have lasted a very long time.

The trip down was long, and we spent two full days getting to and from the Keys but it was worth it! We spent a lot of time in the pool and hot tub. One day it rained most of the day and Madeleine and I enjoyed the hottub during the rain. It was a fun memory.

The couples we were with took turns watching the kids for date nights. On Wed night we got to have a double date with Cory and Emily. We went to Key West which was a really pretty drive. We had dinner at an awesome little restaurant and then walked Duval street and got to experience St Patty's day there. Fun times.

Maxiel apparently doesn't sleep while traveling which was one of the downsides, but we're hoping eventually he may out grow it. We'll see.

On our way to and from Florida we were also able to get lunch with some friends we don't see often. It was a really great unexpected bonus to our trip.

We got lunch with Jared and Elisabeth Cox. We last saw them around our wedding in 2003. It was great to see them and hope to get to meet their kiddos soon.

We got to hit up this awesome ice cream parlor. It's hard to describe, but if you're ever in Fort Lauderdale you should check it out. Obscene amounts of icecream are served there.
This is the sundae that came with Mado's kids meal. She chose cherry vanilla ice cream with black cherry topping that they apparently put in the bottom :)

Me and my little beach bum
Max loved the beach. It was his first time and he was so happy. This picture doesn't really do it justice but at one point he had wondered off a good ways up the beach going full speed ahead. He was pretty mad when I brought him back to where we were. :)
Madeleine also really loved it. It was great to finally show her a real beach. (Not an (often stinky) lake beach like we have here

Isaac and I (I think this was our first time on a beach together?!)
Isaac and Maxiel

The water was REALLY cold.

He loved the soft sand

This is a group shot of all the kiddos that were there. Sara made the girls coordinating sun dresses with matching beach bags, and the boys got hats that matched. It was ridiculously cute. She is a wonderful friend and very talented even though she doesn't like to talk about her craftiness.

Lots of crazies in the morning!

Because Maxiel didn't want to sleep much, we saw the sun rise a few times. The first morning I saw the bahamas on the horizon as the sun was rising. It was beautiful.

Isaac, Madeleine and Ella on the pier

I got to see Sarah on the way too Florida. It was short but very sweet!
